EPA COMPLIANT UPGRADES: Installation of equipment foundations, repairs and replacement of structural steel, and installation of new IP fans.
COAL BIN REPLACEMENTS: Replacement of aging coal bin and surrounding structures, including removal of existing bin, modifications to existing structural steel, and replacement of all surrounding structures, including access platforms.

Featured Experience:
DRUM STORAGE FACILITY INSTALLATION: Demolition of existing retaining slab and old
drum storage facility. Installation of drains and HDPE pipes to current lift station and construction of new lift station. Installation of canopies, dry deluge sprinkler system, pump house, new power service to drum storage facility, new drum rack system, and security fencing.
15KV CABLE DISTRIBUTION: 550 cubic yards of hydro excavation to install foundations for 3500 LF of duct banks and new substations. Installation of new pipe supports and modification of existing supports.
HVAC UPGRADE: Conversion of existing refining building into state-of-the-art lubrication research facility. Retrofit of building to accept HVAC upgrades, including demolition of existing air handler and structural steel platforms. Drilling of piers and installation of structural steel platform, plumbing, grounding, and chemical drains.

Power Upgrades
Williams Construction has 66 years of experience in the power generation industry, starting with the local GRDA coal-fired plant. Since then, we have performed countless projects for power generation clients including GRDA, AEP, OG&E, and Entergy. Our experience includes projects in coal-fired, combined cycle, and hydro-electric facilities. Williams Construction is one of the few contractors in the US to offer Rotary Coal Dumper Replacement services, successfully replacing 6 dumpers in recent years.
Featured Experience:
ROTARY COAL DUMPER REPLACEMENTS: To date, Williams Construction has successfully completed several coal dumper replacements. These projects included removal of existing rotatory coal dumper, assembly of new dumper outside of the building, and use of 385-ton crawler crane to lift new 268,000 lb coal dumper into place through the roof.
AIR QUALITY CONTROL SYSTEMS: Structural steel upgrades and modifications made to retrofit an air quality control system to an existing 528-megawatt coal fired power plant. The Williams team utilized 4,000 lbs. of welding consumables to complete this project with zero failed welds.
COAL CONVEYOR SYSTEMS: Disassembly of existing arm, installation of drilled pier foundations to 70’ depth, and installation of new arm equipment.

FOOD
In the 1980s, Williams Construction began working at a protein facility located in the Mid-America Industrial Park. Today, we continue to expand our expertise in the food industry, completing several capital projects for a variety of industrial and production clients. Our knowledge and understanding of how work should be performed in a food-grade facility has allowed us to become the go-to contractor for many clients in the food industry.
Featured Experience:
HOT CAKES ADDITION: Building of new plant site, including clearing of site, all necessary earthwork, installation of utilities, building pad excavation, installation of foundation piers, grade beams, and concrete floor slabs.
DOUGH MIXER STRUCTURE AND PLATFORM REHABILITATION: Installation of temporary support during removal of existing carbon steel dough mixer structure. Replacement of carbon steel structure for stainless steel structure, including aluminum checker plate and walkways.
DRYER REPLACEMENT: Demolition of existing dryer structure and equipment. Installation of 22 drilled piers, construction of heavy concrete foundations for feed dryer tower, assembly and setting of bag house, modification of existing equipment and installation of new fans, blowers, conveyors, pumps, piping, and instrumentation.

FERTILIZER
Williams Construction knows fertilizer plants inside-out. We have completed a wide range of projects in the industry, including disassembling, transporting, and re-assembling entire fertilizer plants. CONCRETE PIPE TRESTLE: Installation of drilled piers ranging from 48” to 72” in diameter and 30’ depth including 9’ rock socket. Installation of 71 concrete columns with trestle T’s up to 30’ elevation.
GENERATOR AND ELECTRICAL GEAR SETTING: Rigging and setting of 55,000 Ib generators using an engineered tower platform for accessibility and safety.
TRESTLE PROJECT: Installation of 150 drilled piers and 50 spread footings for fiber trestle system. Installation of 5,000 linear feet of underground precast concrete trench for site fiber connection. Poured concrete duct banks to connect existing fiber vaults to new trench/trestle infrastructure.
